Business, organization & private social groups

Curling Opportunities

Business or Organization “Teambuilding in 2 Hours” & private social group curling is available during our regular season (late October thru the end of March). We are closed for curling until October 2007, but you may Inquire & Schedule Now for the season ahead.

The Rochester Curling Club, a smoke free facility, is an all volunteer organization & offers:

-A 2 hour, on-ice, introductory or more advanced curling experience. See below.

-Optional meeting room rental, before and/or after the curling experience. See below.

“Teambuilding in 2 Hours” Typical Schedule:

15 minute – Your arrival, name tags, sign participant release forms, footware fitting

15 minute – Introductions, Club safety rules, short video lesson

30 minute – On ice curling instruction & practice

60 minute – Organize into teams, normally 4 per team, & play a short curling match, instructor assisted

10 minute – Return equipment & footware

If the size of your group is not a multiple of 4, then we can adjust team sizes accordingly.

More experienced groups, who have curled here previously, may receive less instruction time & thus play a longer match.

If some in your group have knee, back or hip problems, then we can instruct them in the use of a shuffleboard style “stick” that will allow them to participate as well.

Group Size:

Groups of (ideally 32) up to 40+ people can be accommodated at one time on our 4 sheets of curling ice. Larger groups CAN be accommodated by adapting the schedule and with flexible/creative planning. Minimum group size is 16 to reserve a date on our calendar.

Curling Rates, Deposit, Full Payment:

Adults: $20/person

Youth, 10-17yrs: $12/person

This curling experience is not recommended for children under 10. Children under 10 generally do not have the size, strength or attention needed to enjoy themselves and to remain safe on the ice. Groups that include children younger than 10 or those with special needs will be considered on an individual basis.

Meeting Room: $50/hr for use of the WARM room before and/or after your curling experience.

The total fee will be charged based on the number of people given at the time you make your reservation, even if fewer actually attend. If more attend, then the charge will be increased accordingly. However, we may not have enough instructors to support these extras if we do not know about them far enough in advance.

Deposit required: A $100 deposit must be received at least 2 weeks prior to your reservation date. A check must be payable to “Rochester Curling Club” & send it to:

Rochester Curling Club
Attn: Groups
71 Deep Rock Rd
Rochester, NY 14624

The balance is due, in cash or by check only, at the start of your curling program.

Food & Drink & Curling Store:

We provide hot beverages (coffee, tea, hot chocolate) as part of your curling experience.

You may bring in your own food and paper products. Or you may order it delivered.

Our full kitchen is available to heat food & wash dishes. Your clean up is required.

Our bar offers: Soda/Pop, juice, beer on tap, bottled beer, red & white wine and liquor

These are on either a cash basis or a tab can be kept and added to your bill.

(Note: Due to our liquor license, only alcoholic beverages purchased by the RCC may be served and consumed at the club.)

Items for sale at our curling store may also be purchased. Also curling art items are available at curlingart.com

Adult Participant Release form, Minor Participant Release form:

We focus on your safety while you are at RCC and supervise your curling experience for your safety.

All participants are required to sign an Adult Participant Release form prior to going onto the ice. Also, for children less than 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must also sign their Minor Participant Release form. Please print off copies of these releases and have them signed prior to arrival at the RCC or allow some time for that while you are at the RCC.

What should we wear??

The air is normally 38 degrees F on the curling ice, so you should dress warmly. Wicking fabric & removable layers: turtleneck, fleece or sweatshirt, flexible athletic pants, thin leather-palmed gloves or mittens AND a hat. Jeans will restrict your movement and are cold. We have locker rooms for changing.

CLEAN, relatively flat, shoes (sneakers with rubber or gum soles) will be needed for curling.

CARRY (please) your “clean curling shoes” into our building as our parking lot tends to be snowy or muddy. We must keep our curling ice as dirt free as possible to allow the curling stones to slide freely.
